Fine Art Commissions

A commissioned piece is an opportunity to create something specifically for your home, your story, or your client’s space. Jill Wilson Fine Art offers custom original artwork for both individual collectors and trade professionals, including interior designers, architects, and other creative partners.

You don’t need to know anything about art to commission a painting. You may come with a very specific vision—or simply a wall that needs something special. Commissions begin with a conversation about the space, preferred size, colors, overall feeling, and any existing artwork, textiles, or interiors that may help guide the piece. Reference photographs and inspiration images are always welcome.

Jill’s work is rooted in layers, timeless forms, quiet neutrals, and small moments of unexpected color and movement. Rather than creating an exact reproduction of an inspiration image, each commission is approached through Jill’s own artistic perspective, resulting in an original piece that feels at home in its surroundings while still bringing interest and personality to the space.

The Commission Process

1. Inquire
Submit a commission inquiry or send me a direct message on Instagram with your desired dimensions and any details about the space.

2. Establish the Direction
Together, we’ll determine the appropriate size, general palette, orientation, and overall direction for the artwork. You do not need to arrive with all of these decisions made—Jill can help guide the process.

3. Reserve Your Commission
Once the scope is established, you’ll receive a commission proposal with pricing, estimated completion timeline, and deposit information. Your place on the commission calendar is secured once the deposit is received.

4. The Painting Begins
From there, Jill takes the creative lead. Each piece is built intuitively through layers of paint, texture, marks, and color. Because original artwork evolves throughout the painting process, the finished piece will reflect the agreed-upon direction without being overly prescribed.

5. Delivery
Once complete, your original artwork will be prepared for pickup or shipping. At this time, the remaining balance is due before delivery. Framing recommendations can also be provided when appropriate.

For Trade Professionals

Jill Wilson Fine Art welcomes collaborations with interior designers, architects, hospitality professionals, and other members of the design trade. Commissions can be developed around a specific project, palette, scale, or installation need while maintaining the character of Jill’s work.

Whether you are sourcing one statement piece for a client or developing original artwork for multiple spaces, the goal is to make the process straightforward, collaborative, and designer-friendly. Trade inquiries are welcome for current and upcoming projects.
